Classic WyldeWoode Hammered Dulcimer Hammer - Birdseye Maple with Lacewood grip
Birdseye Maple with Lacewood grip
Length: 8 3/8 inches; Weight: 10 grams
This pair of hammers features nicely figured Birdseye Maple with Lacewood grips.
Unlike most woods, Lacewood is a common name used for lumber made from a number of different trees, all of which have a unique lace-like grain structure. The open grain makes unfinished Lacewood extremely prone to slivering, as anyone who has ever worked with it will attest. Once smoothed and finished it no long slivers, but the open grain produces an ever-so-slight texture to the grips which feels very nice to the fingertips.
