These hammers are made from a tree once used for maple sugaring and, after being harvested, was underwater from flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011.

Play'n Jaynes are 5/8 inch shorter than Bob's other designs which makes them easier to control for beginner players and perfect for those with smaller dulcimers.  Their shorter length also makes them a “fast” hammer with a quicker response time, a feature which makes them a favorite among some experienced players as well.
