The body of these hammers are made from a tree once used for maple sugaring and, after being harvested, was underwater from flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011.
The grips are Bloodwood - a very dense hardwood from tropical South American traditionally know as Satine. It’s fine, even grain, red color and natural luster make it a favorite for furniture, inlays, turning, and guitars.
